Why do we have these rules?
Rules
Conflict Resolution: For quick and easy (Yes/ No... He said / She said) problems - students should engage in Rock / Paper / Scissors.
If teachers are finding that students are complaining or not able to resolve their recess conflicts... students have been made aware that teacher(s) may suspend that student (s) participation in that area of recess (or game) - or may simply take that game or equipment away as a recess choice.
Why will teachers suspend participation? - Because there are no benefits to students (or teachers) if a large portion of students are returning to class from recess angry or upset... Mr. B can help students find their "next best" at recess, if student(s) need help.
- Students are jumping off swings are getting hurt.
- Students are walking in front of swings and getting hurt.
- Students are twisting the swings and are swinging in the path of another swing - they are also slowly breaking the plastic around the chains of the swings.
- Students are standing on the swings and either hurting themselves or hurting other students.
- Not enough students are getting a turn to swing.
Rules
- No jumping off the swings.
- Do not walk in the mulch in front of the swings.
- No twisting the swings.
- Please only sit on the swings.
