Adult Mindset Presentations
We would like to hear from the adult members of our ADE family!
We looking for adults who would like to share
their thoughts, passions or challenges
in a 5-15 minute
"TED-Talk style" presentation
(see examples of TED Talks below)
ADE Staff are welcome to do any kind of Mindset Presentation that they would like,
but if you need some inspiration there are some suggestion below!
Presentations will be in front of either
90 students in grades 3-4-5 or
110 students in grades 1 & 2
Mindset Talks are on Thursdays: May 3, and May 10
9:40am - (gr. 3-5) Bednar (3rd), Kalb (4th) and Ward (5th)
10:25am - (gr. 3-5) O'Dea (3rd), Lambright (4th) and Alexander (5th)
11:10am - (gr. 3-5) Kleman (3rd), Bolyard (4th) and Williams (5th)
1:15pm - (gr. 1-2) Lairson (1st), Scherer (1st) Stafford (2nd) and Alexander (2nd)
2:05pm - (gr. 1-2) Gillespie (1st), Hutchins (1st), Wolfe (2nd) and Slatinsky (2nd)
We can have a projector, screen and speaker for your computer to connect, if needed.
We will also have speaker and microphone available.

#1 Passion Project & Talk - Service Project. Staff can present to the team a problem that they would like to solve. A solution is not needed, you can simply present the problem and why it is important to them to try to solve this problem or you can offer a solution.
Students may decide that they would like to help you figure out a solution or help you with your solution.
Mindset concepts:

Examples: These examples have solutions... students are welcome to have solutions (or not)

#2 Learning from Struggle Talk - All of us are born with a set of strengths and struggles. Some of us get to struggle early in life and others wait to address their struggles.
Do you have a struggle from your past that you learned from?
For example, did you struggle as a child in school with reading?
Did you overcome that struggle?
If so how?
If not why?
How did working through that struggle give you tools to be more successful today?

#3 Challenge Project & Talk - Staff can challenge themselves to learn something brand new.
They need to make a plan and they need to be ready for us to check-in on their progress.
These students need to have started in on their plan, but they do not need to be finished.
Students will need to share their plan as part of their presentation.

Examples:
Physical Challenge - be prepared to talk about how you learned from your mistakes and how your challenge demonstrated: Grit, Perseverance and / or Resilience.

Skill Based Challenge -be prepared to talk about the skill you are working on & how you learned from your mistakes and how your challenge demonstrated: Grit, Perseverance and / or Resilience.

Changing a Habit Challenge -be prepared to talk about the habit you are working on & how you learned from your mistakes and how your challenge demonstrated: Grit, Perseverance and / or Resilience.

#4 Video Example of a MINDSET concept & Talk
- Staff would find a video that presents one or more Mindset concepts.
Staff will show the video and then tell the students which Mindset Concepts are presented. Staff can also share their feelings about the video and can also ask questions from the audience.
