Why do we have these rules?
- Students are sitting on top of the climbing wall and other students cannot climb over the top.
- Students are shaking the climbing wall, and students are falling off.
- Students are pushing each other and getting hurt on the climbing wall.
- Many students are using the small climbing walls at the same time and falling.
Rules
- Students are allowed to climb over the top of the climbing wall.
- Students should NOT SIT on top of the climbing wall.
- Do not shake any part of the climbing wall.
- There is no pushing while playing on the climbing wall.
- One person at a time on the SMALL CLIMBING WALL.
Conflict Resolution:
For quick and easy (Yes/ No... He said / She said) problems - students should engage in Rock / Paper / Scissors.
If teachers are finding that students are complaining or not able to resolve their recess conflicts... students have been made aware that teacher(s) may suspend that student(s) participation in that area of recess (or game) - or may simply take that game or equipment away as a recess choice.
Why will teachers suspend participation? - Because there are no benefits to students (or teachers) if a large portion of students are returning to class from recess angry or upset... Mr. B can help students find their "next best" at recess, if student(s) need help.
