Student Mindset Presentations
Grades 3-4-5
We would like to hear from the students!
We looking for students who would like to share
their thoughts, passions or challenges
in a 5-10 minute
"TED-Talk style" presentation
(see example below).
Children may work alone, or in small groups of two or three students.
Students will present their talk two times - over two weeks.
Students will present on May 3, and May 10
We are taking requests now.

Passion Project - Community service. Students present to the class a problem that they would like to solve. No solution needed, students can simply present the problem and why it is important to them to try to solve this problem.
Mindset concepts:
Empathy
Compassion
Examples: These examples have solutions... students are welcome to have solutions (or not)

Problem: Children in third world countries need shoes.

Challenge Project - Student challenges themselves to learn something brand new.
They need to make a plan and they need to be ready for us to check-in on their progress.
These students need to have started in on their plan, but they do not need to be finished.
Students will need to share their plan as part of their presentation.

Examples:
Physical Challenge - be prepared to talk about how you learned from your mistakes and how your challenge demonstrated: Grit, Perseverance and / or Resilience.

Skill Based Challenge -be prepared to talk about the skill you are working on & how you learned from your mistakes and how your challenge demonstrated: Grit, Perseverance and / or Resilience.

Changing a Habit Challenge -be prepared to talk about the habit you are working on & how you learned from your mistakes and how your challenge demonstrated: Grit, Perseverance and / or Resilience.

Video Example of a MINDSET concept - Student would find a video that presents one or more Mindset concepts. Students will show the video and then tell the students which Mindset Concepts are presented. Students can also share their feelings about the video and can also ask questions from the audience.
